This foundational course provides operators with the knowledge required to safely power up, operate, and perform basic maintenance on the VALOR Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The course is structured into twelve modules covering system familiarisation, power-up procedures, navigation and sensor systems, thruster and camera operations, networking, power systems, maintenance, and software configuration. The course concludes with a written assessment; a score of 80% or above is required to receive certification.

This certification course tests operational knowledge of the Versatile and Lightweight Observation ROV (VALOR). The assessment covers power management, controller inputs, visual systems, and standard operational procedures, including pre-dive and post-dive checks.

This short course introduces Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) used in offshore, subsea inspection, and industrial environments. It covers what ROVs are, where they are used, the main system components, basic operations and safety concepts, and how operators think during a task.

This course is designed for new starters, non-technical stakeholders, and anyone wanting a practical overview before progressing to equipment-specific training.
